We’ve loved becoming part of Prosser’s small‑town wine country community and getting to know the people who make it such a warm place to visit. Prosser has so much to offer, from wine tasting and great food to scenic drives and small‑town charm. Here are our local favorites:

Right in the heart of Prosser wine country, overlooking the beautiful Yakima River, Gård Estate Wines & Inn brings together award-winning estate wines, a handcrafted menu, overnight accommodations, and unforgettable events—all on one beautiful property. Prosser House
Casual American fare with generous portions, great burgers, and a welcoming vibe. Prosser House is a reliable go‑to for families and groups and has a great patio. We love their Asian chicken salad and pulled pork sliders.
Neighbor’s BBQ
Smoky, satisfying BBQ with all the essentials — brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and classic sides. Neighbor’s is perfect for a laid‑back lunch or dinner.

Horse Heaven Hills Recreation Area
Hiking, sweeping views, and wide‑open landscapes are open to all at Horse Heaven Hills Recreation area. A beautiful way to experience the region’s natural side.
Leslie Groves Park
Leslie Groves Park is about 35 minutes east along the Columbia River — shady lawns, riverfront paths, and a peaceful place to unwind with a picnic. Grab a sandwich from Graze and take in the view! Also highly recommended: take a dip in the swimming area if it’s warm enough, or let your dog splash around in the wake of passing boats.
Wineries on Red Mountain (Nearby)
Just a short drive from Prosser, Red Mountain is home to some of Washington’s most celebrated wineries. The area is known for its bold, structured reds, stunning vineyard views, and intimate tasting experiences. It’s an easy add‑on to any Prosser visit — whether you’re looking for a scenic drive, a deeper dive into Washington wine, or a relaxed afternoon exploring one of the state’s most iconic growing regions.
Horse Heaven Hills Wineries (Nearby)
South of Prosser, the Horse Heaven Hills AVA stretches across sweeping, high desert landscapes and some of Washington’s most storied vineyard sites. Known for its long growing season, steady winds, and dramatic views, the area produces beautifully concentrated wines with depth and character. It’s a scenic, easy drive from Prosser and a great way to experience another side of Washington wine country.

Varietal Beer Company
Varietal Beer Company was created by a group of friends in 2016, with a production brewery opening in mid-2018. The common goal of the project is to bring great beer to the Yakima Valley, Washington State’s hop-growing region. You’re just 20 minutes away from homegrown hops in a glass! The taproom is open 7 days a week.

Just 35–40 minutes west, Yakima has a few standout stops we love recommending, especially for beer lovers, and has some of the best food in Eastern Washington.
Crafted
One of Yakima’s standout dining experiences, Crafted is led by James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Dan Koommoo. The menu is creative and seasonal, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the dishes are consistently memorable. Note, they are closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays.🙁
Bale Breaker Brewing Company
A Yakima icon. Bale Breaker is family‑run, surrounded by hop fields, and known for crisp, flavorful beers. They have great outdoor seating and a fun, easygoing atmosphere. Pups welcome on the patio. Try their Daybreak Pale Ale!
Single Hill Brewing
Single Hill isn’t just a brewery — in the mornings, the taproom turns into a bright and airy coffee spot with great espresso and a rotating selection of fresh pastries. Later in the day, it shifts into a lively craft beer hangout with inventive brews and a welcoming crowd. It’s an easy stop if you’re heading into downtown Yakima and want something relaxed and local. Don’t miss their seasonal sours!
